December 2012 Awards!
Posted on Tue Jan 1st, 2013 @ 6:19pm by Admiral Ricky Wegener
Good evening, ladies and gents! It is my pleasure to announce the awards for December 2012 to a group of people who have worked so hard throughout the entire year to make SB900 one hell of a simm.
And away we go!
Post of the Month
O Brother Who Are Thou? written by CMDR Hawke (also for Nahi Hawke), VADM Wegener, CMDR Sakkath and LCDR Zeferino (for Lt. Darwin). This particular post reveals the existence of someone from our Li’s past who is currently alive in the alternate universe--her brother, Nahi. However, not only is he alive in the AU, he is also a collaborator with the Archadians in the attack on AU SB900. His existence is also quite a surprise to Wegener who is very close to the Hawke family, so much so that the Admiral literally stands in shock in the middle of a firefight as the realization hits him, along with a phaser beam from Nahi’s weapon. Our intrepid Lt. Darwin also has his hands full having to deal with Wegener’s cavalier attitude toward the search and in the battle. Not only is Darwin a senior security officer with quite a bit of experience, he winds up a frustrated flag officer babysitter, trying not to get himself killed while trying to keep Wegener from doing the same. Once Nahi is captured and taken to see Li and Sakkath, his being alive and the fact that he is a traitor responsible for numerous deaths on 900, including AU Li Hawke’s--his own sister!, hits everyone like a ton of bricks along with his seemingly uncaring attitude. This entire post is one big reveal after reveal after reveal and was well written by all involved. Congrats to all!
Drama Award
December’s Drama Award is given to Lt. Cmdr. Kh’ali and Lt. Cmdr. Leroy for their posts relating to the strain on their relationship due to the alternate universe Aleksandra and Faye coming through the rift. The whole situation is deeply emotional for Kh’ali and Patrick, not to mention how AU Aleksandra and Faye are dealing with it. The posts are well written and give us some real insights into the personal lives of both Kh’ali and Patrick that we don’t normally get to see in duty posts. Great job!
Antagonist Award
There are two Antagonist Awards to be given out this month. The first is to the villain Zoudin Veist who is the right-hand man of Prime Minister Aegina. He has made it clear that he will do whatever it takes to anyone, including cold blooded murder. While he currently does the bidding of the prime minister he obviously has his own agenda and what may come from him is definitely worth some concern. Secondly we have the Hazari, also known as The Enforcer. It is obvious from his actions concerning Chance that he is a very bad and dangerous person. With him running loose on the station no one is safe. Of course, with current events, he seems to be in custody of base security, but there’s no telling how long that will last with his type.
Newcomer Award
This award is given to Commander Davis. Not only did he come to 900 wanting to create a good character but he decided to take one of the attached ships and make it more active. Now as the CO of the USS Hammond, Davis is assembling his crew and getting ready to head out on his own adventures. Great work!
Character Development
December’s Character Development award goes out to Eli Samuels, our very own smuggler/pirate/rouge/anti-hero just trying to make a living any way he can. We’ve enjoyed reading about his exploits and seeing his character become more fleshed out as we go along. I, myself, am very interested to see how Samuels continues with his life of getting by how he can! And doesn’t his character image just look badass?? lol Keep up the good work!
Lastly, we have a promotion. Lt. (j.g.) Leto, formerly Nenita Quidley, will be promoted to Lieutenant. This will not take effect immediately but at some point within the plot upon Rick and Li’s return. Of course, they’ll first have to figure out just who in the hell she is now, but that’ll all get sorted out soon enough. :)
That’s it for the month of December 2012 with exception of the Character of the Year Award, which is currently being voted on by you, the members, and will be announced next Monday or so.
Congratulations to all award winners and I hope to see many more excellent posts in January and all throughout 2013!
