It is awards time again! YAY!!
Post Of The Month: A Matter Of Honor
Lt. Commander Kh’ali, Commander Patrick Leroy, Lt. Nick Marcinko, Warrant Officer Awf
Leading to a climactic conclusion to an old family strife, Klingon-style. A piece of action as wasn't seen in a while.
Dedicated Service - One Year: Warrant Officer Awf
Wow, we can’t believe it’s been a year already! Awf entered the scene and got busy. So far we’ve seen him making life interesting for the Flight Command crew, took part in a secret alien retrieval mission, and then he was off and running to Qo’nos where he got a crash course in Klingon culture and joined in a wedding party. Congratulations and we can’t wait to see what happens next.
Character Development Ribbon - OOC:
Suresh (II) - The new Suresh jumped into the action with both feet. Following the hunt for the escaped (old) Suresh, he returned to 900 to step into the shoes left by the former crime lord’s absence. He’s given up his ‘real’ life to play the part and assist Intel and Security in maintaining the peace below the equator. Since then, he’s married and is having to keep it under wraps, as well as facing the plotting of the Old Suresh’s wife who almost caused him to lose Six. He’s become a force in his own right and continues to tread a fine line every day down in the Pit.
Vic - We’ve seen Vic go from ‘just the bartender’, to re-joining the Fleet and taking up his former position as an undercover officer. He’s gradually expanded his role and is now a partner in The Nexus Club. On the personal front, his life has been up and down and so far he’s had bad luck in the romance department, but is still smiling. He’s come a long way and turned into a very complex character. Well done!
Desta - We first saw Desta as one of Fisher’s victims on the slave ship. It was later revealed she’d been a prisoner there for two years. Following the rescue of her and Reva, she’s moved to 900 and began the process of putting her life back together and making friends, even as she continues to hide who and what she really is.
Ensign Reva Madhava - we’ve watched as Reva went from a fun-loving and happy-go-lucky young officer to Fisher’s victim in an instant at the hands of a jealous lover who sold her out. She’s endured a nightmare and is back safe and sound on 900 and, like Desta, trying to put the pieces back together again. She’s making good progress and is now assisting at the Academy as well. It’s been a wild journey for her, but the future looks bright!
Grace Under Fire: Parents On The Lam
Lt. Eric Edwards, Lt. Commander Nicolao, Vic, Jackson Banning
A Trip to Enara Prime to rescue Eli Ziyad’s parents turns into a tense and dangerous situation
when they find Maran and Irina being held hostage by the secret group intent on killing both them and the rescuers. They managed to escape the planet, proving once again that Enara is not the friendliest place for a layover.
Comedy Award - OOC: This Is Not a Prank...Honest
Lt. Cmdr. Louie Rousseau, Cadet Junior Grade Chance Conradi, Cadet Junior Gradi Eli Ziyad, Ignatius Reilly
Comedy Gold, like Iggy telling Louie that they should take Kahuna to meet his namesake and have a beer. Also, Iggy being 'mom'.
Drama Award - OOC: Retracing Old Steps
Suresh, Xerena
For the post "Retracing Old Steps" Flashbacks... The staple of drama. Especially those lying shadowy hues on the future. This post is a glimpse of Suresh (the original) ferocity and the troubles that Suresh 2.0 is going to face...
Purple Heart:
Vic - Attacked by Loran, Cadet Ziyad’s brother upon returning to SB900
Dr. William Harding - Poisoned on Archadia by the Prime MInister’s jealous second consort
Crewman recruit Xavier Slandala - ambushed by Pash, the slaver, in an attempt to prevent his friendship with Desta and lost his hand in the attack
Lt. Raj Amani - Shot by Pash in the attempted kidnapping of Desta
Whose Line Is It Anyway? - OOC:
Captain James Warrington
"We don't plan on being here long. Once we clear the debris field we will only need a couple of days to finish the repairs to our drive. As some of these require a spacewalk we obviously don't want to be warping about," James informed him half telling the truth. They didn't need to know they'd done the space walky bit. -- from Meet the Devore
Lieutenant Nick Marcinko
In the post: A Matter Of Honor - Part II “Lady, I’m on so many lists it’s amazing that I can get any sleep at night.”
Seyla
In the post: -Be Careful What You Ask For- “Define ‘normal’. Personally, I think you look like an ass.” Seyla rulez.
Farco And Robart
"Nah. He doesn't need to give such an order. Me 'n Farco, we know what he wants. He's not gonna let someone hurt his girl and just look the other way." Patch shook his head. "Nope. He's gonna want a piece o'Riley. Last time.... No, time before this, we took the guy's fishin' tackle right off an' delivered it to him. Surie, he gave it to his woman, as a goin' away present."
Robart's own tackle shrank inward a touch as he listened. "Where on Archadia?" --from Riley Gets Bought
Commander Patrick Leroy
Every time Kh’ali was happy he ended up in sickbay, Patrick thought with some worry. He couldn’t imagine about happier. --from Path Of Clarity
Honorable Mention
The “When One Is Not Enough” Award: Iggy & Her Babies - Ariadne, Gilroy, Jr., and Little Kahuna
Iggy made history when she became sentient, and then again when she petitioned Starfleet to recognize her as a new species. Now, she’s made history once again with the hatching of her three surviving offspring who are, themselves, sentient. We’ve already seen hints of their emerging personalities: Ariadne, the thoughtful one who was the first to make contact with Eli; Gilroy, Jr., who quotes startlingly apt Shakespeare quotes; and Little Kahuna, who is a baseball fan with a colorful vocabulary. It’s going to be interesting to see where they go next!
The “One We Love To Hate” Award: Xerena
Xerena was a look back at the first Suresh’s past and an unwelcome visitor to the present of the current Suresh. We saw her true colors as she did her best to end his relationship with Six. She came close to succeeding. In the process, Xerena deeply hurt Suresh and almost pushed Six into making a move that would have accomplished exactly what she set out to do. She cut a wide path of destruction in the short time she was free on the station and was a first-rate ‘bad guy’. Well done!
Congratulations to everyone, and keep on writing!
