| Personal History | Born in 2359 on the planet Verdanis, in the Beta Cephei system, Céline grew up under the tutelage of her parents, Doctors Bradley and Evelyn Mitchell, in the city of Caavale. Primarily a town full of other doctors and intellectuals, as it was a hub of scientific research on the planet, Céline was thrust into the world of sciences at a very young age. By the time she was six she spoke four languages, two of them fluently (for a six-year old's vocabulary, which was actually much broader due to her parent's regular use of large words), and at seven began working on her fifth language. At ten years of age, Bradley and Evelyn sat Céline down to explain to her that she wasn't their biological child and that she was adopted. She was a very well-rounded child at this age and accepted their admission without issue. She still loved them and it was painfully obvious that they adored her, but she did ask about her birth parents. They didn't know who her parents were, only that she was available and they chose her. At age 14, Céline began university level courses. Having been homeschooled by her parents, along with guest instructors to include her aunt and uncle and several other close friends of her parents, her education was far and away more impressive and thorough than many. She started off focusing on biology and linguistics and, at 17, had her first four-year degree in physiology and genetics. She decided to stop studying linguistics and focus more on science-related work. She was up to seven languages at this point: Federation Standard, French, Chinese, Russian, Vulcan, Andorian and Romulan. Her parents had wished for Céline to help them in their work on Verdanis, but she had other plans. She had enjoyed being taught so much that she wanted to give that gift to others and completed the teaching certification course offered by the Federation, allowing her to teach in schools on any Federation aligned planet, base, station or ship. |
