Mission:
Flight of the Valkyries
Location: Valhalla Colony
Shimmering into position, it seemed like the Professor had wanted to take a moment or two in order to check over his cravat before he said anything. While he considered the recording of his log to be something of the utmost importance, he also apparently had thought very much the same about fashion.
Really, though, he couldn't be blamed for it because he wasn't the one who decided to program him looking so good.
Once he had everything in order he stood with his usual wry gaze before he began to finally record the message that he had gotten so used to recording.
"Science Officer's Log, Supplemental!"
Distance education is a big thing these days, especially when you're a hologram who has unlimited control of a computer system and you can interface with anything very quickly. As a result, I guess that some people in Starfleet had wanted me to just mildly test out how much of a professor I am. So well I figured that I had to take on one of my specialties. It used to be that Starfleet had three different science specialists along with the main crew.
They had a historian, geologist and biologist you could select. I'm programmed to act as all three, so I ended up teaching three different courses over the subspace networks that tie our systems together. Instructions were offered both via hologram and LCARS text. For the history field I figured that people would like some light reading, thus I decided to give them The Final Reflection as an assignment. It's an interesting book, and I recommend that anyone reviewing this log give it a try if they're looking for something relaxing.
Well, believe it or not but that's not the only thing great that happened to me lately. I met a special someone here on the colony that was assigned here by Starfleet. I realized that we have a lot in common from the first time I laid simulated photorecptors on her. The way she speaks, well, it's literally my language.
To think that I would have something in common with someone from a different species was really surprising, but her culture is so exotic that it's kind of nice and exciting. Exocomp ways can be so romantic, and she can instantly have whatever we need ready for a date.
We're going out again tomorrow night.
