***** SB900 Q’Vahn’s assigned quarters *****

“She had the audacity to throw me out of the room.” Q’Vahn growled contemplating the pieces of broken furniture scattered on the floor in front of her.

“And what would you have expected.” Roctan asked trying to ignore the effects that her fit of rage had brought into the room “To have her demurely lower her head and go away quietly into the night?”

“She’s not even a full klingon!” Q’Vahn shouted “Just a miserly half-breed, she should know her place.”

Roctan strongly shook his head in denial “She’s Torin’s acknowledged daughter born from an union between himself and a human woman that has embraced our culture, customs and that has been finally accepted by Mistress Sirella undergoing a formal klingon wedding. Kh’ali’s a true and full member of our society and, even if it is unlikely that the case will ever present itself, she came to the world first and will ever be a step ahead of you in the bloodline.”

Q’Vahn looked at him face aslant, eyelids half-closed, her voice strangely calm “They wanted to have you around me in this mission because you’re honorable and always do speak your mind… I do not like your tone in addressing me and I don’t like being lectured by an old klingon anachronism of times past… Be careful of your steps Roctan, I told you once already.”

“I see that intimidation and overbearing are your only approaches to every matter, Q’Vahn. I’m not afraid of death.” Roctan replied “May it be that such an unfortunate occasion would end to underline your overstepping.” Roctan ended dryly.

“You may go now, Roctan. Return to your quarters and keep devising solutions for the project we are implementing here and leave me to my own business.”

Giving her a scolding glance Roctan turned and exited the room.

Q’Vahn addressed then one of her guards “You. Return to the K’nahr and send here Khang in your stead. “

The klingon nodded slightly and without waiting further prompting exited the room to carry out her orders.

***** half an hour later *****

The chime of the door sounded.

“Come in.” Q’Vahn said turning to look at the doors swishing open as in their frame appeared the epitome of the klingon warriors... Over seven feet tall and massively built, looking powerful as if stepping forth from some ancient klingon legend she beheld...

“Khang.” Q’Vahn gestured him inside “I thought you would have me wait all day long.” She smiled.

The warrior sauntered in eyeing the other klingon guards around. “It took a while commander. But I’m here at your behest.” He responded in a surly way.

“I see. I have instructions for you…”
