- Father: Arzan Vor
- Mother: Zovra Vor
- Sister: Szura Vor
General Description & Personality Overview
A Saurian species, Vor is covered head to toe in reptilian scales whose pigment possesses the ability to change according to his mood. Standing slightly taller than most adult humans, his cranial structure is similarly larger, protected by heavy bony brow ridges that rise to a central crest and protrude from the back of the skull. Each hand is comprised of three clawed manipulatory digits.
Vor is consumed by academic interest, though it rarely relates to his studies. The prospect of truth in the Distant Origin Theory leads him to attempt to befriend nearly every Human he comes into contact with, whereas discussing warp theory only makes him realize that the Federation has not yet achieved transwarp. He walks a difficult line, between fascination and contempt, though he does truly wish to be a part of the Federation that his motherworld helped to form.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Vor possesses a degree of knowledge unmatched by most cadets, a function of his race proving spacefaring prior to the evolution of man on Earth. This results in arrogance on all too frequent occasions, a sense that he is being held back despite a strong desire to interact with his ancestors and reunite. It is also a constant reminder of the sacrifices he has made to pursue this life, and a challenge to not offer artificial advancement.
Ambitions
Vor's ambition resides on a galactic scale. He wishes to prove the Distant Origin Theory in the short term, and reunite the Voth and Terrans in the long term. He feels that Starfleet's presence in the Delta Quadrant is the perfect opportunity to force an alteration in Voth Doctrine.
Hobbies & Interests
Vor spends nearly every waking minute researching humanity and the hadrosaur, at least when not preoccupied with classwork. He has made an effort more recently to associate with other Cadets, particularly humans, so as to fulfill his primary purpose for being here. Enlistment is secondary to exposure, for this Saurian.
Personal History
Vor was born on a Voth City Ship, the son of a member of the Archaeological Circle who supported Professor Gegen's theory of Distant Origin. Though Gegen ultimately publicly denied the veracity of his theory, it was difficult for his supporters to believe that it was not under duress, given his prior conviction. Arzan passed those beliefs on to his only son.
Tehnan (Vor to most, as Voth refer to themselves by surname in all but the most intimate or familial situations) pursued the legitimacy of those theories in secret, coming into contact with Tova Veer and learning from him. It was the next best thing to Gegen himself, who had been assigned to metallurgical analysis.
When word spread throughout the Delta Quadrant that the Federation was once more present, the only prior contact having involved the USS Voyager, Vor sought out this "Nine Hundred" fully intent on both meeting his evolutionary derivatives and setting eyes on the planet the Voth could call home.
