Master Sergeant the eighth enlisted rank in the Starfleet Marine Corps, just above Gunnery Sergeant and below Master Gunnery Sergeant. It is equal in grade to Senior Chief Petty Officer. In the Corps, Master sergeants provide technical leadership as occupational specialists at the E-8 level.
